ALL ABOUT MY INTERNSHIP
By: Vialeth Pallangyo, TFFT Scholarship Student
As the heading above say I started my internship on 7/Jan/2013 working as an account’s assistant in the hotel called Torch Budget Inn. The hotel is in Pangani area. I feel so happy working there with a lot of people not only that but also am getting a lot of experience from the workers which are also working there.
Simply because it was my first time to work as a cashier some times I was worried am doing bad but I thank very much my supervisor Mr. Sam Meeda because he teaches me how I can work simply without even being scared about anything. Thank you Sam.
As the time goes I am getting more experience because I am given responsibility by my self doing things which I feel like it can help in the hotel, for example doing inventory, arranging the store, assessing the rooms etc. But also sometimes I can go to the market and buy the goods and bring them in the hotel.
Apart from working as a cashier sometimes I used to stay as receptionist for a time being, this is another work making me know a lot of people and know how to work with them, handling them and also the behavior of different people. To be honest before doing my internship I was thinking I can not manage to do that because I did not have any experience, but believe me I just finished the two weeks, I have been training the third week as a cashier and now I can do it myself. This is so great to me because I accomplished something hard and I thank God for giving me that understanding.
I can also share with you this “failing the form four result is not failing in life.” I am saying this because it happen to me. I got division four on my form four exam but I did not lose hope because TFFT, they were behind my back giving me the hope, then I started college with my promise of studying hard and I did it! Up to now I am just finishing my certificate by this March 30th.
I cannot forget TFFT staff and friends like Mr. Fratern Tarimo. I am so happy and appreciate what they did for me up to where I am. Thanks very much. THANK YOU VERY MUCH VAILETH PALLANGYO
