At The Foundation For Tomorrow (TFFT), we believe in the transformative power of education to create brighter futures for vulnerable children. Today, we are thrilled to celebrate an incredible achievement by four of our scholars who have reached a remarkable milestone. Upendo, Loishiye, Baraka, and Raphael have all earned Division 1 scores—the highest possible ranking—on their Form 4 National Examinations. This outstanding accomplishment is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and resilience, as well as the collective support of TFFT, their families, and their communities.
The Educational Landscape in Tanzania
Education remains a significant challenge for many children in Tanzania. While strides have been made in improving access to primary education, only about 30% of students transition to secondary school, and even fewer successfully complete this level.* Barriers such as poverty, lack of resources, and systemic inequities continue to limit opportunities for millions of children. For those who do make it to secondary school, academic success can be hindered by overcrowded classrooms, undertrained teachers, and limited access to essential learning materials.
Despite these challenges, TFFT is committed to creating pathways for vulnerable children to not only access education but also excel within the system. By providing scholarships, psychosocial support, career coaching, and life skills training, we address both academic and non-academic barriers to success.
Transforming Challenges Into Opportunities
Upendo, Loishiye, Baraka, and Raphael’s achievements represent much more than individual academic success; they are a beacon of hope and a demonstration of what’s possible when children are given the tools and support they need to thrive. These students have risen above the odds, proving that determination, paired with holistic support, can lead to extraordinary outcomes.
At TFFT, we recognize that education is not just about passing exams—it’s about equipping young people with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to their communities. By addressing the whole child through our programs, we ensure that each scholar is supported academically, socially, and emotionally.
Looking Ahead: Why This Achievement Matters
The success of Upendo, Loishiye, Baraka, and Raphael inspires us to continue working toward our vision of an equitable world where all children have access to quality education. Their stories remind us why our mission is so important and fuel our determination to expand our impact. While we celebrate their achievements, we remain acutely aware of the work that still needs to be done to ensure that all children in Tanzania can access the same opportunities for success.
We know that transforming education on a systemic level requires long-term commitment and collaboration. By working alongside local communities, government agencies, and partner organizations, we aim to address the root causes of educational inequity and create sustainable change.
Join Us in Making a Difference
As we celebrate this milestone, we invite you to join us in our mission to provide quality education to vulnerable children in Tanzania. Together, we can continue to break down barriers and open doors of opportunity for students like Upendo, Loishiye, Baraka, and Raphael.
