Birthday Dreamin’

By Kaitlin Rogers Last month Meghann and I had the pleasure of meeting Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow and hearing him speak about his remarkable organization, Mary’s Meals. As he spoke, he revealed that his genuine vision is for every child in this world to receive at least one meal each day. He realizes this means providing

In Loving Memory of Lou Lou

Lou Corse was someone very dear to The Foundation For Tomorrow. I remember meeting Lou four years ago. She lived in Tanzania and had reached out to one of our team members, Alley Brindza, to host a holiday party where her guests would donate books, clothes, and toys for our children. From that initial introduction, Lou went on to donate her time, talents, and treasure to TFFT. She lost her fight against breast cancer last April, a battle she fought hard for years.

A Hat

By Nancy Phelix, TFFT Scholarship Student, Form 3 Nancy wants to be a fashion designer. This has been her dream for years now, and we believe she will achieve it-- just notice how she adds flair to her school uniform with pink and purple clips and by loosening her tie a bit when most students

Tanzanian Culture

By Fratern Tarimo, TFFT's Managing Director Today I will try (in every sense of the word TRY) to talk about the Tanzanian culture in relation to TFFT’s work. Even if you stop to think about it, it’s hard to put into words, but this is what our facilitators challenged us to articulate during our three-day stakeholder workshop. Representatives from our partner schools, TFFT scholars, heads

Strategic Planning Part 2—Getting Technical

By Meghann Gunderman, TFFT's Founder and Executive Director Stop and think for a minute and think: who would you identify as an orphan or a vulnerable child? During our strategic planning sessions, defining OVC (Orphan and Vulnerable Children) was one of the first tasks we tackled as a group, and the debate was quite controversial.

Strategic Planning Part 1—Introduction

By Meghann Gunderman, TFFT's Founder and Executive Director Hello! It feels good to be back in the United States after a whirlwind six weeks working with our team in Tanzania. My time on the ground both recharges and drains me. It recharges me because within seconds of being with the kids I am reminded why
