MEGHANN

On September 14th we celebrated some wonderful milestones in  eleven of our TFFT Scholars’ lives. Four of our primary students finished Class 7, with only a national exam standing between them and their chance to move on to secondary school. We also had seven of our Form 4 students graduate from O-Levels. As a refresher on how the school years correlate to the US and UK read back here. Our Form 4 students will stay at school for another month to prepare for the Form 4 National Exam. This will determine their direction for the final two years of their scholarship with TFFT. We will have some students continue onto A-Levels for an advanced degree and then some who will choose to hone their professional skills via a certificate or diploma course at a local college. Both are great opportunities, and we look forward to seeing what their futures hold. Take a peak at some of the highlights from the graduation ceremonies.

At Star High, our only Form 4 graduate was Richard, with nearly a clean sweep of awards. He received awards for English, discipline, and assisting other student academically. We love to see our students honored in this way. It was also great to see many of Richard’s fellow TFFT scholars now attending local colleges come back to support him on this momentous occasion.

At Usa River Academy we had a couple returning TFFT faces as well. Both Fratern Tarimo and Josh Nassari came back to support our graduates. Josh Nassari, former Scholarship Program Director, is now the youngest ever MP in Tanzania, representing the Meru district.

Cake is a big thing at graduation. Lets just say, baking cakes isn’t TFFT’s strong suit, but we tried. Some we purchased, some we baked, but all of the students were able to share in the moments of fun!

Our Form 4 graduates also received a special gift to honor the occasion: fancy watches! (Thanks Caniglia Family!!)
