After much anticipation RIDETZ is upon us! All the riders have arrived safely; we had our orientation meeting and welcome dinner tonight, and everything will officially kick off TOMORROW! The past weeks have been a whirlwind of excited chaos as we all worked around the clock to make sure we had all our ducks in a row. As all the riders begin their journeys to Tanzania, it is time to exhale. At this point no more can be done: What’s packed is packed. There is no more time to train. No more “i”s can be dotted or “t”s can be crossed. It is time to let RIDETZ’s magic unfold!

We plan on keeping you as up to date as possible on the RIDETZ experience. However, much of the ride takes us through very rural Tanzania, and connecting to the internet to post regularly will be impossible. We plan to post a live update halfway through the ride, but to ensure that the blog doesn’t fall silent otherwise, we have scheduled some great posts for you to read in our absence.

We promise to update you on all the details and highlights of the ride once we are all back in Arusha (June 19). To get you in the RIDETZ spirit, here are some images from 2010:
