2025 Teachers Convention

The Teacher Training Program at The Foundation For Tomorrow (TFFT) represents a vital component of our commitment to quality education. This program equips educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide exemplary instruction to vulnerable and orphaned children. Through rigorous training, TFFT ensures that teacher are not just educators but also mentors, shaping not only academic growth but also the holistic development of their students. By investing in the professional development of teachers, TFFT reinforces its dedication to nurturing a generation of empowered learners who will contribute positively to Tanzanian society.

This year, we are hosting our third Teachers Training Convention. The convention is a vital platform for professional growth, peer learning, and dialogue on education reforms in Tanzania. It brings together educators and other education actors to exchange ideas and strengthen our collective commitment to advancing quality education.

This year’s edition is focused on Competency-Based Education (CBE), and will feature research and evidence sharing and varied sessions meant to equip teachers with practical strategies that can be applies directly in the classroom.

The two-day event addresses four interconnected sub-themes that bring the CBE policy, purpose, and practice into alignment. Parallel sessions will be conducted under the below sub-themes.

Pedagogy and Learning Design

This sub-theme focuses on innovative ways teachers can design lessons to build competencies rather than just deliver content. Sessions on Backward Design, Project-Based Learning, and Play-Based Learning will strengthen teachers’ ability to plan lessons that are learner-centered, engaging, and aligned with the Competency-Based Curriculum.

Assessment and Feedback

Assessment is more than testing — it’s about guiding learning. This sub-theme will help teachers integrate performance-based assessments, formative assessments, and effective feedback strategies. Teachers will leave with practical tools and techniques to track learning progress, adjust teaching in real-time, and ensure that assessment supports – not hinders – learning.

Inclusive Practices

Every child deserves to succeed in the classroom. The sessions within this sub-theme will help teachers reflect on how to create classrooms where diversity is embraced and every learner can thrive. Participants will explore strategies for supporting struggling learners, integrating Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and designing teaching-learning resources that promote inclusion.

Technology & Innovation

Education in the 21st century demands integration of digital tools and innovative practices. This sub-theme highlights how to use digital technology for professional development, leverage technology to enhance teaching, and integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) responsibly into daily practice.
